Conspicuous black and white and red plumage . Beak a distinctive Coral Red , with the male having a distinct black basal knob in the breeding season

Where does the Shelduck Live ?

Sea coasts , also inland waters .

Diet

Cockles , snails, worms and crustaceans.

When does it Breed ?

April - July , 8 -12 eggs, incubation 28 - 30 days, young fledge in 7 - 8 weeks . Nests on Burrow.
