The date and locality rule out C. halophilus which is a salt marsh specialist, targetting Aster tripolium
and known only from Spurn (in Yorks). C. fodiens islarger than C. daviesanus and much less well recordedin the county. I suspect that your beast is probably C. daviesanus, but it isn't really possible to be certain about that( found Yorkshire July 2006)
