The Tarsi has two segments .The bug gets its name from the high level of parental care given to its young sitting on the eggs for up to 2 - 3 weeks and thereafter guarding the young

Length 7 - 9 mm

Larvae. Are around June - September

Habitat Birch Woods and birch trees in gardens and park.
